The Department of Public Instruction (DPI) has published the School and District Report Cards for the 2023-2024 academic year. These report cards aim to assist districts in utilizing performance data to focus on improvement efforts, ensuring students are prepared for their next educational steps, whether advancing to the next grade level, graduating, or pursuing college and careers.
The report cards evaluate schools based on four priority areas:
1. Student Achievement: This measures students' knowledge and skills against state academic standards in English language arts (ELA) and mathematics.
2. Growth: This assesses how quickly students gain knowledge and skills each year, emphasizing the pace of improvement in student performance.
3. Targeted Group Outcomes: This focuses on outcomes for students with the lowest test scores within their school, known as the Target Group. It includes achievement, growth, chronic absenteeism, and attendance or graduation rates.
4. On Task to Graduation: This evaluates how well students meet educational milestones that predict future success.
For the 2023-2024 school year, OCFSD has been placed in the "EXCEEDS Expectations" category with a score of 70.9. The district also reports improvements in math achievement scores, ELA growth scores, and achievement scores for targeted groups.
"We applaud the hard work of our students and staff and thank them for their dedication and commitment to our schools!"
