The School District of Cudahy recently celebrated the accomplishments of its students in the Continental Math League event, part of the district's Talent Development Program. A total of 70 students from grades 2 through 6 from various elementary schools including Jones, Kosciuszko, Lincoln, and General Mitchell, participated in this national mathematics competition.
In Wisconsin, the 6th-grade team achieved significant results, finishing in 2nd place. Individual recognitions in the 6th grade were awarded to Claire Jagler from General Mitchell Elementary, who secured the 1st place, and Evan Urbanek from Jones Elementary, who took the 2nd place.
The 5th-grade team, which included both 4th and 5th graders, concluded the competition in 5th place statewide. Peyton Fonk earned 1st place for the 5th grade, while Colin Rabinek finished 2nd, both from General Mitchell. In the 4th grade, there was a tie for 1st place between Jereign Cook and Ian Brousseau from General Mitchell. Jacob Hammersly from General Mitchell and Elias Weiler from Kosciuszko completed the 2nd place position.
The 3rd-grade team, consisting of 2nd and 3rd graders, ended in 3rd place in Wisconsin. Marco Piatti from Kosciuszko won 1st place for the 3rd grade, while Helen Moore, also from Kosciuszko, and Athena Anderson from General Mitchell shared the 2nd place accolade. Among 2nd graders, Nicholas Arteaga from Lincoln, as well as Lilah Jagler and Kashton Davis from General Mitchell, earned 1st place. Rowan Price from Lincoln, alongside Jason Spaho and Preston Fonk from General Mitchell, took 2nd place.
The students' participation and achievements in the event reflect their hard work and dedication. "CONGRATULATIONS to all participating students for contributing to the team scores," was expressed in recognition of their efforts, with specific acknowledgments for those who excelled individually.
