Manufacturers are gradually reopening in the new year, striving to meet demand while navigating challenges such as supply chain management and workforce adjustments. Several trends have emerged that these companies are following to succeed.

Centralization of communications has become crucial. Many firms shifted back-office operations off-site during the past year, with numerous employees working remotely for the first time. Companies are now making some of these changes permanent, requiring new communication tools to connect effectively, especially during time-sensitive situations.

Predictive maintenance is gaining importance as factories aim to avoid equipment failures, which can be frustrating and costly. As machinery becomes more advanced, opportunities arise to prevent failures, extending machine life cycles and minimizing downtime. This approach will remain a priority in 2021 due to its real-time alert and response capabilities.

The expansion of supply chain networks is another trend manufacturers are embracing. To tackle consumer demand and prevent future crises, companies are expanding their supplier lists by moving from single sourcing to multisourcing. They are also digitally monitoring supply chains using AI for potential disruption alerts and seeking suppliers closer to home or reshoring supply chains.

These efforts leverage emerging technology and digital networks to fortify supply chains now and into the future. Effective supply chain management could determine whether companies merely survive or thrive beyond 2021.

"At Allis Roller," states a representative from the company, "we promise to be quick to respond with a wholehearted commitment to quality parts. You will have our undivided attention, and we won’t let you down." The company emphasizes its dedication: "We love what we do, so you can expect to be well taken care of at Allis Roller."
