The Village of Greendale has announced extended hours for its Recycling Center and additional curbside collection services to help residents manage flood-damaged materials. From August 11 through August 22, the Recycling Center will be open Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, with regular Saturday hours from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM. There will be no closures on Tuesday or Thursday during this period.

Curbside pickup for flood-damaged items will start the week of August 18 and continue through August 29. Collections will take place on residents’ regular garbage and recycling days. The Department of Public Works (DPW) encourages residents to begin placing eligible items at the curb this week, as crews may be able to start collections ahead of schedule.

According to village officials, "Eligible items include flood-damaged materials such as furniture and appliances. This service is intended for items that residents are unable to transport to the Recycling Center." Items not accepted in the collection include household hazardous waste like paint cans, as well as brush or tree branches.

All items should be placed curbside by 7:00 AM on scheduled collection days. Crews will attempt to complete routes as planned; if a route cannot be finished in one day, collection will resume the following day.

Residents seeking more information about what can and cannot be disposed of during these special collections can refer to local guidelines or contact village officials for clarification.
