We join the global Church community in mourning the death of Pope Francis. He was known for living out the Gospel with conviction, similar to St. Francis. His final words, spoken on Easter Sunday, included prayers for peace in regions such as the Middle East and Ukraine, and an appeal to protect immigrants. Quoting from today’s Gospel, the vision for Pope Francis now takes form: “You have made known to me the paths of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence.”

As we remember his contributions, there's an urging among us to sustain the efforts he championed. "He did what was his to do. We call on each other to continue to do what is ours to do."
