On April 14, speed trailers were deployed on Loomis Road as part of the village's demonstration projects aimed at improving road and pedestrian safety through grant funding. These trailers will later be relocated to 76th Street, near Root River Parkway, close to the pedestrian crossing at Community Center Park. "These efforts will help us determine if we should request lower speeds on these roadways or consider lighted pedestrian crossing signs," village officials have stated.

Last year, the village completed two similar demonstration projects on Northway using temporary speed bumps and trailers. Following these positive outcomes, the village is now seeking funding to install lighted pedestrian crossings on Northway.
