The Village Board has approved the establishment of the Historic Preservation Commission, dedicated to advising on the designation of historic structures or sites. The aim is also to oversee any exterior changes to those sites once designated. The sites identified so far include the Village Hall, Hose Tower, Jeremiah Curtin House, and Trimborn Farms.

The commission seeks members with varied expertise. Desired backgrounds include that of an attorney, registered architect, educator, historian, or individuals active in historic preservation. Those with experience as licensed real estate brokers, local businesspersons, or in fields such as architecture, construction, planning, architectural history, or related areas are also encouraged to apply.

Interested candidates should complete a Board and Committee interest form. The Village President will review these submissions for potential appointments.
