A public hearing is scheduled to take place during the regular meeting of the Board of Trustees in the Village of Hales Corners, Wisconsin. The meeting will occur on February 10, 2025, at 6:50 p.m. at the Village Hall located at 5635 S. New Berlin Road.

The focus of this hearing is a proposed amendment to the Municipal Code Chapter §445-2.2 Use Regulations. The amendment aims to establish §445-2.2E, which would prohibit any sale, gift, transfer, or other conveyance of cigarettes, electronic vaping devices, or nicotine or tobacco products beyond those currently existing. Additionally, it seeks to create Article V concerning licenses for these activities effective upon adopting Chapter 365 Smoking and Tobacco Products.

"This public hearing is being held pursuant to the requirement of §62.23(7)(d)2. Of the Wisconsin Statutes and Article II, §1-8," according to Sandra M. Kulik, Village Administrator/Clerk/Treasurer.

The draft form of the proposed ordinance is available for public inspection at the office of the Village Clerk during normal business hours or through the Village’s website. The public is encouraged to attend and provide input during this session.

The proposed changes are subject to revisions following feedback from this public hearing by the Village Board of Trustees.
