FOIA Request Sent to City of Cudahy Regarding New Voter Registrations on November 7, 2024

FOIA Request to City of Cudahy Regarding New Voter Registrations on November 7, 2024.

A Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request was sent to the City of Cudahy by Milwaukee South News, a media organization committed to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs. The request was made under the Wisconsin Open Records Law, §19.31 et seq., and specifically asked for a list of new voters who registered to vote on November 5, 2024.

As part of our ongoing commitment to transparency and accountability in public institutions, we at Milwaukee South News believe access to such records is essential in fulfilling our professional responsibilities. This includes providing the public with accurate information about their local government's activities.

We have requested these records preferably in an electronic format for ease of access and dissemination. As a media organization, we also believe we are eligible for a fee waiver for this request.

The importance of such data cannot be overstated as it provides insight into voter turnout and participation in the democratic process. We await a response from the City of Cudahy regarding this request and will continue our efforts to ensure transparency in local government affairs.
