The Village of Greendale has implemented a property code enforcement program funded by Community Development Block Grant funds awarded in 2023. The initiative aims to address concerns related to property maintenance, protect property values, and maintain the quality of neighborhoods.

Kevin Stowe has been appointed as a part-time Code Enforcement Officer within the Inspections Department. His responsibilities include following up on code complaints and conducting exterior assessments of properties from public vantage points such as roadsides or sidewalks.

The Village Board has identified several high-priority areas for review during these inspections: junk and debris in yards, junk vehicles in driveways, broken or damaged windows, significant amounts of chipped or peeling paint and graffiti, structural damage or disrepair, and missing address numbers.

Property owners receiving violation notices will have a set period to comply with regulations. Additionally, income-qualified homeowners may be eligible for low-interest loans for necessary maintenance through the Milwaukee County Home Repair program.

For inquiries about this program or to report a code violation, residents can contact Kevin Stowe at (414) 423-2100 ext. 3112.
