Rogers Behavioral Health will hold a grand opening celebration for the new Brown Deer residential care center on Wednesday, June 29, at 4 pm.
Upon opening to patients in July, this is the first time residential treatment will be offered in Brown Deer, where inpatient and outpatient mental health and addiction care are currently provided. Along with Oconomowoc and West Allis, Brown Deer is the third Rogers location to serve residential patients.
The 24,000-square-foot building is connected to the one-story inpatient hospital located at 4600 W. Schroeder Drive. The two-story addition accommodates 32 patients with separate space for adults and adolescents. Patients will receive specialized treatment for depression and other mood disorders as well as underlying conditions such as anxiety and substance use disorders.
“It is our privilege to expand our residential services in Brown Deer as part of our high-quality, evidence-based treatment at this location,” said Amanda Boeke, PsyD, vice president of Residential Services. “Offering expanded residential treatment means more people can benefit from Rogers’ continuum of care with better clinical outcomes and overall patient experience. The new center also helps to alleviate the high demand we are experiencing across the System for specialized mental healthcare.”
In residential care, patients receive treatment on campus, typically for 30 to 90 days. They have more time and resources for the recovery process from traumatic events and complicated life circumstances. Patients stay in a comfortable, home-like setting with a dining area, group rooms, semi-private bedrooms, recreation space, and activity rooms.
The new center was built by Moore Construction in Menomonee Falls. Milwaukee-based Quorum Architects and Brookfield-based Trio Engineering are also affiliated with the project.
This year marks Rogers’ 115th anniversary of providing life-changing mental health and addiction treatment for adults, adolescents, and children.
With this expansion, Rogers operates three inpatient behavioral health hospitals, 17 residential programs, eight outpatient centers, and a supportive living facility in Wisconsin. Rogers also has a total of 20 outpatient clinics in nine states and will open a new location in Denver this fall.
