Senses: Spring Floral Show At The Domes

Visit “Senses” and breathe deeply in the present moment. Experience the aromas of fragrant herbs and spring blooms–hydrangeas, hyacinths, lilies. . . . Move serenely through a landscape filled with over 2,000 plants, and envision the world at peace.
Visit “Senses” and breathe deeply in the present moment. The floral displays at The Domes are designed to stimulate your senses. Experience the aromas of fragrant herbs, hyacinths, and lilies; the colors of hydrangeas and violas; and the sounds of tinkling wind chimes. Opportunities for your sense of touch are added at the demonstration areas, where herbs release their scent when brushed with your hand. While many fruiting plants, such as lemon, pomegranate and grape are in the show, you will need to visit the Gifts Under Glass Gift Shop to engage your taste buds, with the purchase of herbal tea.
Escape to the serene landscape of “Senses,” filled with over 2,000 plants, and envision the world at peace. Begin with a meditative stroll though the Floral Show Dome, then, continue with instruction sheets from the Friends of The Domes Education Center to go on self-guided mindfulness walks in the Tropical and Desert domes.
Through the Friends of The Domes, you are able to enjoy additional sensory experiences. The gift shop features items related to the show, such as books, flowering plants and cacti, essential oils, wind chimes, and meditation stones. The Education Center lets kids of all ages explore through hands-on activities, such as creating music with instruments made from plants, making a flower, and exploring the rainforest loft. Additional programs offered through the Friends include a cooking class inspired by the plants found in The Domes. More information and registration is available at MilwaukeeDomes.org
On Wednesdays during the run of the show, all visitors receive a free commemorative sticker, while supplies last.
