Addiction is a serious disorder that negatively impacts both physical and mental health. If you’re concerned that someone you love is struggling with addiction, here are a few symptoms that you should be on the lookout for.
Common symptoms of addiction include:
Excess consumption of substances
Failing to fulfill obligations at work, home, or school
Becoming obsessed with the substance
Taking risks that aren’t typical
Refraining from activities you used to enjoy
Using the substance alone or in secret
Having stashes of the substance hidden
Changes in appetite
