Village of Hales Corners recently issued the following announcement.

Forest Home Ave (WIS 24) Resurfacing Project

Public Involvement Meeting

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) Southeast Region (SE Region) is planning the rehabilitation of a five-mile segment of WIS 24 from east of Janesville Road to 45th Street. The public involvement meeting will be an open house format held on October 11th, 2021 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM in the Council Chamber at the Greenfield City Hall, 7325 W Forest Home Ave. Greenfield, WI. Construction is tentatively scheduled to start in Spring of 2025*.

Proposed Project Details

• Remove existing asphalt, base patch underlying concrete and resurface with new asphalt.

• Replace traffic signals at southbound Forest Home / 76th Street exit ramp intersection.

• Reconstruct curb ramps at various locations to meet current ADA** standards.

• Add sidewalk segment near Root River in the City of Greenfield.

• Inlet and manhole rehabilitation as needed.

Reasons for the Project

• The roadway was last rehabilitated in 2010. The purpose of the project is to

repair the deteriorating pavement and improve access/safety for pedestrians.
