FOIA Request to City of Oak Creek Regarding New Voter Registrations on November 7, 2024.

A request for public records has been sent to the City of Oak Creek under the Wisconsin Open Records Law, §19.31 et seq. The request was made by Milwaukee South News, a media organization dedicated to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs.

The specific information requested is a list of new voters who registered to vote on November 5, 2024. As a media organization, we at Milwaukee South News believe that access to such public records is crucial in fulfilling our professional responsibilities. These include holding public institutions accountable and ensuring transparency for the general public.

Given our role in disseminating information to the public, we have also requested a fee waiver as a media professional. We await a response from the City of Oak Creek and will keep our readers updated on any developments.
